CTCAG - An Alumni Grant Program(me)
The Church Teachers’ College Alumni Grant (CTCAG) is intended to support the advancement in teacher training of College students who have a desire to pursue a career in Education but lack all of the financial resources to do so. It is sponsored by the Church Teachers’ Alumni Association Inc (CTCAAi) following the College’s expressed needs on annual basis to support students in financial crisis. Based on the commitment of the STAR, Student Teachers’ Assistance through Reciprocation, program(me) which was established to manage these requests and the necessary funding, the Board proposed this structure to better define its promise to support these students, based on the availability of resources within the Association’s treasury to do so. Seven such grants will be available the 2015 year.

KJGH - An Alumni Scholarship
This Kerr-Jarrett Gift of Hope is intended to provide hope for the future of young children who will be educated as a result of the support offered by one who received her education from Church Teachers’ College. It is envisaged that the beneficiary of this Gift will instill the hope of a better tomorrow through education delivered to the children he/she encounters. The Gift is so named as Kerr-Jarrett was the benefactor’s hall of residence while attending Church Teachers’ College. It is described as the “gift of hope” as it is a gifting award and repayment in cash by the beneficiary will not be required. It is the donor’s hope that this contribution will help to pave the way forward for someone else to benefit from the quality education offered by her Alma Mater.

KTLA - An Alumni Scholarship
This Ken Thaxter Leadership Award is intended to promote high quality leadership abilities among students at Church Teachers’ College (CTC). It is sponsored by the Church Teachers’ Alumni Association Inc (CTCAAi) in recognition of the Revd Dr. Kenneth Thaxter, one of the pioneer lecturers when CTC opened in 1965 as a teacher of English, Social Studies, History and Physical Education, becoming a senior lecturer in 1974 – 1978; Vice-Principal in 1978; then Principal in 1979, a position he held until 1996. During his more than thirty-one years of service at CTC, he composed the College’s song, This Is Our College, still sung today; and enhanced the secondary teachers’ education program(me). In March 2013, the Kenneth Thaxter Building was unveiled in his honour. It is anticipated that the beneficiary of this Award will continue to demonstrate strong leadership skills in a way that enhances the College and Alumni Association while at the College and beyond.

It is sponsored by the Church Teachers’ Alumni Association Inc (CTCAAi), inspired by past student and former lecturer at Church Teachers’ College (CTC), Ms. Claudeth Jones. CTCAAi recognizes that Physical education is unique to the school curriculum as it is the only program(me) that provides students with opportunities to learn motor skills, develop fitness and gain understanding about physical activity. It is anticipated that the beneficiary of this Award will promote Physical Education in a way that increase the skills and knowledge to incorporate a safe, satisfying physical activity into the lives of those they teach.

The Award is so named after members of the Muschett family inspired by daughter Carol. Carol was author and integrally involved in the publication of the book “NAJASO a catalyst forchange", a history of The National Association of Jamaican and Supportive Organizations. The award funded by proceeds from the sale of the Book is intended to provide hope for the future of young children who will be educated as a result of the support offered by one who received her education from the College.
